Not by might not by power but by My Spirit

I think that I set a personal record today. 16 instrument approaches in one day with 4 different students. I think that I am going to have all of the numbers memorized for every approach in Appleton, Oshkosh and Fon Du Lac by the time this is all over.

Anyway I wanted to share with you all some a couple of verses that have been an encouragement to me over the last week or so and I hope that they will be to you also.
Zechariah 4:6-9
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Over the last few weeks life has placed some big mountains in my path ( Finding out I am probably going to be out of a job in May is one) and I was searching for some encouragement from God's word and I came across these verses. They are so applicable to my situation because I know that God has started me on this road of Missionary Aviation and I know that he will open the doors and flatten the mountains by his power not mine to complete the work that He has started. If it was by my strength the mountains would still be there because I can't move them. Praise the Lord for His word and His power working in our lives. I don't think though God flattening the seemingly huge mountains in our lives is the greatest show of his power though. The greatest show of his power is touched on at the end of verse 9. " And thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you." The greatest show of his power is when He makes something beautiful from a messy, dirty, lump of common clay. WOW
