Weekend thoughts
Our family this weekend had the opportunity to go to a rescue mission in Minneapolis. While we were there we attended a meeting for the guys that are staying there for the night. Before the meeting I started talking to a couple of the guys that are staying there. One of the guys turned out to be from Kenya Africa. He came to the US about three years ago because he said that there were better opportunities here. We were about the same age so we hit it off well and were able to talk for quite awhile. It was quite a shock for me to find someone there all the way from Africa. As some of you know I have an interest in Africa so I was able to learn more about the Country firsthand. During our conversation I had a chance to share some of the Gospel with him. He was willing to listen but I sensed that he thought he was OK and things would get better when he got a job and made some money. My heart went out to him. A young man with so much potential but unwilling to give God a chance to change his life and make him a new person. He still wanted to try fix himself up without God's power. Many times in jail I see the same thing. Young men that are younger than I am facing many years behind bars because of something that they have done. The devil wants to destroy their lives but praise the Lord no matter what they have done He can change them if they will give him a new life not just another chance.
