Jail Ministry

As some of you know we have a Bible Study in the local jail each week. Along with the Bible Study we have a time that the guys can request to talk to one of us about the Bible. I usually am involved in the one on one time which I enjoy very much. We generally have about twelve to fifteen guys per night in the Bible Study. There is a second jail in town that we have been trying to also get into which houses the prisoners that are on work release to reach out to some of those guys but we have not been able to. Praise the Lord this week we got some exciting news. The doors are wide open to us now to start working in the second work release jail. The head jailer wants us to start next week. The Bible is so true when it says in Rev 3:8 "See I have set before you an open door and no one can shut it for you have a little strength." God opens doors that no man can shut or that we though were impossible.

I am saying all of this to ask you to please pray for me because most of the work involved laying the foundation for this new ministry is going to be in my hands because I have been involved in the ministry the longest of anyone in our group besides Dad. It is going to start out as personal one on one with the guys but it could grow into a Bible Study as well. I am very excited about it but I need wisdom amidst it all.

One more prayer request is the for God's wisdom for the summer. He has done more of those impossible things since my last post that I can't share now but He is faithful when I am willing to trust Him.
