Safe in His Love

The bright sun was warm and the sky was clear. The overcast layer underneath me was white and clean. We were on our way back from a training flight to Milwaukee. The overcast layer underneath me was thin but thick enough to keep me from seeing the ground and to keep the sun from reaching the ground. It was dreary and raining underneath the clouds but the sun was shining up here. The warm sun was making me sleepy. I leaned my head against the side wall of the cockpit and from one eye watched my student fly the trip home. The sleepiness came from a combination of working too many hours along with the humming of the engine. I noticed out of the corner of my eye the silhouette of our airplane on the white clouds below us. This caught my attention and woke me up because our silhouette was totally surrounded by a rainbow just like a halo. As I saw this I began thinking of the way that God's love surrounds us totally just like this halo was around my airplane's silhouette. We are continually safe in His love if we are walking in His way. The fact of God's love for me is one thing that will never cease to be amaze me. Situations may change and people may let us down but HIS love, care, and guidance does not change or fail.
