We had to move a couple of airplanes out to Waupaca because of EAA so that we can continue to fly during the show. We did it as a flight of three in loose formation along with a loose formation takeoff in Oshkosh. The picture was taken from the lead airplane. I am flying the last airplane that you see way down in the lower left of the picture. I am going to get some better photos when we take the airplanes back in a couple of weeks and I will post those but for now this is the best that I have.
We are not flying this week but I am working as a mechanic for the week for my old boss at New View. He was happy to have me and I was happy to have the chance to get my hands dirty again and be able to make a little extra money. I love to fly but I also like to have the challenge of trying to figure out a problem. I have a hard time fitting the into the "Professional Image" that we are supposed to portray as instructors. I am a little too much of a country boy and have had too many years as a mechanic I guess. The other instructors love to tease me that I am still a mechanic. On X Countries in the twin I am always playing with cowl flaps or mixtures or whatever I can to get the two engine temps to match as close as I can. They also tease me about power settings because if the manifold pressures are split my a half of a inch it bothers me and I have to get them to match exactly. Oh well one a mechanic always one I guess.
Verse for the week
Exo 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD to him.
