The Gospel
I am studying for a message on the Gospel that I am going to give in the jail this week. Every time that I study that subject God's love and grace toward us amazes me even more. I don't think many times that we realize truly what God got when He bought us with his blood. He traded his very life blood for a dirty, rotten, smelly, and helpless sinner and we think that God really got something when he got us. One of the verses that I have been studying for this lesson is Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing. And all our good works are as filthy rags. The good things that we do are like the dirty rag that you just used to clean the floor with. God bought that rag for a price that is unbelievable, his very life. I say along with John Newton "Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me." God when He got us He truly got nothing for everything.
