An Open Hand

The bright yellow post-it notes stuck on the cupboard door which make up our "to do" list are getting less so I guess that it means that we're getting things done. We are settling in so some of the many projects that surround settling in are getting done. We are very much enjoying our new life together. We are discovering that God created people to share life with others. A selfish person is one that is very lonesome. When we approach life with an open hand, giving what we can to others, that same hand ends up overflowing; but a clenched fist does not hold much. Going through life sharing it with a wife is a huge blessing. Are there lessons to learn? Yes, many, many of them. Are things difficult at times? Yes, but God is so faithful to keep on working with us and teaching us. The closer we grow to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the closer we will grow to each other because we are both committed to following Him. If both of us are headed for a common goal we will grow closer, and that is a blessing. I commented to a friend the other day (who has been married for many years) about how wise Solomon was when he wrote in Proverbs, "He that finds a wife finds a good thing." His answer was, "You are not the first man to find that out!"

We appreciate you all praying for us. Continue to do so. It means a lot to know that we are being brought before the Lord as we continue to seek His will for the next step to take.
