The Harvest Fields

There are 6,912 languages in the world. 438 have a bible in their own language. 1168 have a New Testament. 2,251 have no Bible Translation in process.

When I read these numbers I found them very stunning. There is so much work to do yet. The Fields truly are white unto harvest but the labors are few. The call for workers goes out across the world still today. The call goes out but it is up to us if we are willing to answer. This call may entail going to a foreign land or living a "normal" life in the U.S. Broken, ruined, lives are all around us no matter where we are, here or abroad. The harvest is in progress. We must use the time that we have and the place where we are now to do what we can for the Master. The night will soon be here. Some workers He will choose to move to a different field. Still others will not be swinging the scythe harvesting the grain but they will keep the workers supplied with the things that they need. Water to drink, a stone to sharpen the scythe when it gets dull, or other small needs. Your place may be small or large in gathering the harvest but we all will be able to rejoice together at what the Master of the Harvest has done when we get to Heaven and see familiar faces. Some of those faces we may have seen just once or twice. Others may be ones the we have prayed for over many years. Praise the Lord that His call still goes out for labors no matter who they are or what they think they can do. It is His harvest and He will see it to completion.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
